Courteney Cox has an engagement ring on her finger, and she is not afraid to show it off. The actress was seen out with her husband-to-be on Wednesday night, and photographers managed to snap a few photos of the new bling on her finger. This was before the actress revealed that she was newly engaged. People Magazine reported on the engagement and shared a photo of the engagement ring on June 27. Her engagement is described as a "super-thin, delicate band with pavé diamonds set with a large emerald or princess-cut diamond."
Cox is now engaged to Johnny McDaid. He is a member of the band Snow Patrol, and he is 37 years old. The couple were introduced to each other by Ed Sheehan, and they made their debut as a couple at a party held by former "Friends" co-star Jennifer Aniston on Nov. 8 of last year. Ed Sheerhan did talk about introducing the couple. He said the following, according to E! Online:
"I wasn't allowed to talk about this, actually, but it's just gone public so... My housemate [McDaid] who I've lived with for a year, I introduced him to Courteney Cox. They started dating and [are] crazy about each other. I ended up spending a lot of time living in her beach house and therefore bumping into all these random people. We spent Thanksgiving eve at Jennifer Aniston's before spending the day at Courteney's."
Cox and McDaid also were spotted having a romantic getaway with each other. The pair celebrated Cox's 50th birthday by taking a trip to Turks and Caicos. One eyewitness that saw the couple during the trip said that the couple looked "happy together and totally in love." The couple revealed via their Twitter accounts that they were in fact engaged to each other on Thursday. The ring on her finger and the reports that followed their Wednesday night dinner outing forced the couple to come clean about their marriage plans.
This will be the second marriage for Courtney Cox. She divorced David Arquette back in 2013. At the time of their divorce, David and her had been married for 14 years. She has a 10-year-old daughter with Arquette. He just added a new baby on his side of things, so he has clearly moved on from Cox. Their split was highly publicized, and it looked like the two might find they way back together.
Courteney Cox has made just as much news about her romantic life as her professional life since "Friends" ended on NBC. She did manage to land another popular series that landed on TBS after ABC gave it the boot. Season five of that series ended on April 1, and TBS did renew the series for a sixth season. It will be the last season for the comedy series though. Ratings for the series have slipped since its premiere on TBS, but a loyal fan base for the series made it an easy decision for the network to pick up the series once ABC dropped it.
What do you think? Are you excited about this new engagement for Courteney? Reports do make it sound like she is happy with the new man in her life. TBS will air the 13-episode sixth season of "Cougar Town" in early 2015.
