Something is terribly wrong with our government and the citizens who vote year after year to keep them in office. Common sense is desperately needed, and straight talk needs to ensue as a result.
In southern Nevada a rancher who merely wants to earn a living and be left alone is called a "domestic terrorist" by the Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid, D-Nev. Reid further called all who support this rancher "domestic terrorists."
Now for the common sense and straight talk. It is Sen. Reid and all of his cronies who think like him who are the domestic terrorists, and here's why. The U.S. government has no authority to seize and hold property unless it is to be used directly in the service of the government. The Constitution does not give the federal government the power to hold lands. It's land must be used for the buildings that house it's various functions, including the military. It cannot hold land just to have it, or to sell it for a profit, or to favor certain corporate interests that may want it. It does not even have the legal authority (Constitutional authority) to seize it, hold it, or hamstring landowners due to "endangered species."
The United States, therefore, is in violation of its own law. That means that those armed federal agents who gathered in the hills above the Bundy ranch last week are domestic terrorists. They wish to enforce an illegal action of the U.S. government. That land does not legitimately belong to the Feds, though the courts and the Feds, like all good tyrannical progressives (regressives) say that it does.
But this is not the only example of the inversion of our values, the tendency to call that which is good evil and that which is evil good. The Attorney General of the United States believes that lying to Congress is acceptable behavior. And that being held in contempt of Congress for it is an outrage.
Holder claims no other Attorney General has been treated in such a manner.
Excuse me, Mr. Holder, ever heard of John Mitchell, Richard Nixon's Attorney General? Perhaps you should go back and read what happened to him. Not only did he lie to Congress but he served a jail term for it. So, if you think you have been dealt with unfairly and harshly, perhaps you should consider that under normal conditions you would be sitting in jail right now.
The parade of government officials that were sent up the river after the Nixon fiasco should serve as lesson as to how far this society has fallen away from common morals, ethics, values, standards, and the law itself. Both Democrats and Republicans supported the purge in the early 1970s, including Nixon's impeachment and removal from office. He avoided this only because he resigned.
Where are Democrat supporters of impeaching Obama? How many Democrats support a jail term for Eric Holder? Not a one. Why? There was broad bipartisan support for Nixon's removal, and they did haul Mitchell and others to jail. Why not now? No other explanation can be found than they march in lockstep to the Obama-Holder lawlessness.
But lest we, the citizens, let ourselves off the hook, consider this. Once upon a time in America, if the government had passed the most massive, far-reaching legislation in decades based upon a lie, and if the citizens had discovered that lie, they would have demanded their elected reps to repeal the law immediately. Yes, we were just that honorable and full of integrity. The people would not have stood for it.
Today, however, even when we are told directly by numerous government officials that we were lied to by Obama, Hillary, Reid, Schumer, Biden, Pelosi, Pryor, Landreau, Hagan, and dozens of other top Democrats, just to make sure the Obamacare law was passed, what do the citizens do? Nothing. We send the same vermin back to office, year after year.
