Colonel Meow is the winner of the Guinness World Record for furriest cat. In the 2014 edition, the two-and-a-half year old Himalayan-Persian mix, which also resides in Los Angeles, Calif., will wear the crown. According to The Inquisitr on Aug. 30, 2013, his hair measured an average of nine inches long.
'We already knew that he was the best cat in the world, but to be recognized in the Guinness World Records book takes it to the next level,' said the Colonel’s owner, Anne Marie Avey.
Colonel Meow requires two people just to brush his hair due to its length and quantity. And in the house where he resides, everything is covered in it. Avey finds herself perpetually vacuuming just to keep up with it all. Like another cat made famous this year, Meow has a funny face with an upside-down smile as well. Move over "Grumpy Cat", there is a new frown in town.
Colonel Meow is also being prepped for stardom. Of course he has his own Facebook page with 185,000 likes and growing by the day. The Colonel is very friendly and unafraid of people. He is also a rescue cat who was taken in by the Himalayan and Persian Society when they found him by the side of the road.
