Chrysler Jeep Cherokee and Durango lastest vehicles to be recalled

With all the recent recalls it is almost a wonder that there are any cars left on the road these days. Add to this Chrysler’s announcement that it is issuing a recall of nearly 870,000 Jeep Grand Cherokees and Durangos from 2011-2014 to fix a defect in the brake systems following consumer complaints about excessive brake-pedal firmness.

According to the automaker, “although brake boosters used in current vehicles feature crimp joints treated with a special coating designed to resist corrosion,” the recalled vehicles will be outfitted with shields to “protect brake boosters from corrosion caused by water exposure” at no cost to owners. The recall is expected to begin next month.
