Chima Simone Big Brother 11
Chima Simone, 32, a houseguest on the reality show Big Brother 11, revealed this evening that she survived a brutal rape at the hands of a serial killer, she was his last victim.
On September 17, 1996 Dale Devon Scheanette raped and murdered Christine Vu, on December 24th of that same year, he did the same thing to Wendie Prescott.
Dale Devon Scheanette was known as the “Bathtub Rapist” because after raping, strangling and duct-taping his victims, he left their bodies in half full bathtubs.
Between the two murders police only found one fingerprint – but the semen taken from both victims matched.
Three years later Chima Simone from Big Brother was attacked. She was beaten very badly and raped but she survived by fighting back. Chima’s rape brought attention to the cold cases, and the semen he left behind matched the semen taken from the victims he had killed 3 years earlier. New fingerprint technology also helped to catch him. He was suspected of five other rapes within the same area.
On February, 10, 2009, Scheanette was executed by the State of Texas for the rape and murder of Wendie Prescott. He was charged but never tried for the rape and murder of Christine Vu.
He died by lethal injection. It took nine minutes for him to be pronounced dead.
Chima had to have two separate facial surgeries because of the extent of her injuries.

wow... what a story... i have been watching big brother for over a month now, and had no idea... she carries herself so well, so confident... I give credit to Chima for her survival, but I wonder why they didn't talk of Russels injury that left him in a wheelchair for quite some time. Chima actually told this story in week one (live feed watchers saw it) but for some reason, producers just now decided to air it.
Keep in mind - Chima is being edited very nicely. She has called Russell (who is Lebanese) a terrorist - she called Braden a racist and later admitted she only did it for publicity - she didn't think he was racist - she recently (today) said she was going to try to get Russell to hit her so he would go to prison and hopefully be raped.
Again, those watching the live feeds get to see the "real" Chima and she's not very nice, she's just being edited favorably.
I agree they edit Chima to be this nice person and on the feeds she is saying alot of different things. But this is nothing new for this show. The have been doing it many seasons with different people. To me it is a reality show. Who cares. I don't know them and will never meet them. I love watching the feeds and the show but what woman does not like a little drama in her life. And the great part about the drama is it is not happening to me I love that part

The Chima who is seen by viewers of the show is an much different woman than the one seen on the 'live feeds'. Although I admire her for being able to survive and overcome the horrible experience written about in this artice, I do not like the woman I've watched on the 'live feeds'. If anyone in that house is a racist, it is Chima. For a black woman, and a woman who has suffered what she has in her short life, Chima is not a very nice person and definetly has a much work to do on herself before she ever calls someone else a racist.
Hopefully people can separate her REAL life from her life in the Big Brother house. I'm sure in the real world she's a stand up person.
She is obviously a very intelligent woman, but she is behaving like a diva, racist, and um, a bitch. It's unfortunate that she isn't playing more intelligently than she is. (how many times should she call the Lebanese guy a terrorist? just cause he's a jerk does not make such an insult acceptable)

A racist is a racist. Black, white, Asian, Arabic, whatever. Chima must learn that she can not be a racist under the pretense of being strong woman. I'm sure that the perpetrators of violent acts against minorities also felt they were just standing up for what was "right". We all need to STOP!!!!! I'm starting to wonder about CBS's screening process for contestants. Chima appears to be suffering from post traumatic stress disorder (at the least), and Ronnie seemed to be on the edge of sanity with his delusions of grandeur, and then isolating while he was HOH. "CBS: WAKE UP!!!!!"
Chima went through a horrible personal experience with her brutal rape. However, that gives her no excuse to treat the others on BB the way she did and to get so mad at the producers and then to go around destroying property and breaking rules. It's a game, she should have expected things to get stirred up. Bottom line, she thought that herself, Jessie and Nat were on top of the game. When their plans were turned upside down by the "special power" Jeff won and used, she acted like the spoiled little princess that she is. Hopefully she will get professional help to deal with her built up hostility and try to make some good out of her horrible behavior.

Yes it is very sad that Chima was a rape victim but she is a very bitter person. The rape has nothing to do with the game of Big Brother. She is a cold & Evil person with no heart whatsoever. She felt she did not need to appologize to Russell for the things she said but she expected him to appologize to her. Even her grandparents were ashamed of her behavior on the show. I agree with BB evicting her. If she can't follow the rules & She couldnt...then she needed to go. I am glad to see her go & I am sure more than 1/2 of america feels the same. Like many others, I am not convinced she was raped. Beaten yes but she displays no actions of a woman who was raped. The man in the photo has a striking resemblance to Russell, the type she goes for. As a sexual violence expert/educator & a victim/witness advocate, it's myths like these we try to dispel every day. It's myths like these that are SO ignorant & contribute to the victim-blaming society in which we live. Just an FYI-people do not typically lie about SA. The stats are the same as any other falsely reported crime (~2%). Survivors "act" many different ways after an assault. I don't doubt as all that she was raped. I wonder if she was a MAN on tv talking about getting robbed or mugged, how much we'd be calling HIM a liar. The ignorance surrounding sexual violence is so disappointing & until we are enlightened & educated, it will continue to be a crime that victimizes 1 in 3 women in a lifetime & 1 in 5 men.

Elizabeth I have dealt with SA victims since 1968 and nearly 40 yrs ago, I helped start the 1st crisis center in my area. I was victimized as a child & an adult. My credentials match yours. No typically one doesn't lie about SA but Chima is not typical. I think that is the point of the posters. I detest rapists, but anyone who makes false claims is just as bad. Making light of 9/11 shows nothing is sacred with her, I understand the doubts.

Ok isn't it enough already. Chima's actions in the BB House were horrible and she offended many people on many levels. But we have any proof she lied about being victimized. It could have happened. Wishing that fate on another does make one question the validity of her story but do we really want to keep kicking her when she is down? We've had our say, can't we leave her alone now. Chima did get raped. But that is not an excuse for her behaviour, it's just an explanation. People who get raped will have issues afterwards. They are still "fighting" the rape in many ways. Some fight for "control", and "power" over any uncomfortable situation or any comment that feels like an "attack". Chima is a great example of this. She is actually very afraid, and is constantly reading people around her negatively, and feeling threatened from all sides, she attacks and attacks and attacks. It's not an easy way to live, because people don't want to get close to someone like this, and they just label her a bitch. Maybe that's another of her issues. That "keeping people away" makes her feel "safer". Chima is not evil. Chima needs therapy. I know, because I was raped and beaten a lot growing up, and both , so I know the issues it can create in a person like Chima. She's trying her damndest to present a strong "face" to the world, but inside she is still shaking in fear and pain.
I personally did not like the way shima was on the show. However, if she was raped she has gone through alot. No one can say how a person will or should react to any type of assault after they have been assaulted. It is not your place or mine. Everyone on here has done something they are not proud of chima just happens to be on national TV so everyone can see.
Just because that happen to you that does not mean that the world owes you some thing. You still have to conduct your self in a way that you will set examples for all of the victims to any tragady. I agree that Chima is a total jerk. HOWEVER, how can anyone negate the horrific thing that happened to her. I have all daughters, a wife, mother and grandmother. I cannot imagine such a horrific thing being done to them. Some of you people are in dire need of professional help and are disgusting. You must be from the video game generation where all the killing and raping make you void of any human emotion. There is something seriously wrong with all you for minimzing what happened to her.
The story was not a lie. I have known her family for nearly two decades. She is lucky to be doing this well in her life, after going through that.
I don't believe she is racist, only that she says hurtful things because she herself was hurt. The cause of that hurt was by a man. So her target (whatever skin color or ethnicity that may be) is men. Saying racist things is just what she uses to back up her anger.
