The Host's theatrical release date is literally just around the corner if you can believe it. In fact, the film's world premiere will take place tomorrow (Tuesday, March 19), and it will hit local cinemas next Friday.
It has been nearly five years in the making - the book was released in May, 2008 - but the time has finally come for another Stephenie Meyer story to test the Tinseltown waters. Things are pretty far along at this point, too.
Five clips from Andrew Niccol's adaptation of The Host have now been revealed, and if you want to catch up on the full load, look no further than the below summaries, links to each individual video and a combined reel featuring them all in the same order. "Human": Jared (Max Irons) catches Melanie (Saoirse Ronan) rummaging through an abandoned home's kitchen and threatens to kill her. He soon discovers, however, that she's a fellow survivor and can't let her go.
"Kissing in the Rain": Melanie and Jared, with little Jamie tagging along, dance in a field before the rain sets in. As Jamie makes way for shelter, the other two seize their chance at a little romance.
"Come with Us": Melanie is surrounded by Seekers (Diane Kruger) and decides to take a dive out of the window rather than go with them willingly. She knows they don't exactly mean it when they say, "We don't want to hurt you."
"A Love Like That": Jeb (William Hurt) talks to Wanderer about Melanie and explains why he just might believe she has stuck around.
"It's Not Human": Ian (Jake Abel) and Jared fuss over how to treat Wanda. Ian, like most everyone else in the caves, wants to show leniency to her, but Jared finds the issue simple: she's not a human and doesn't deserve to be treated like one.
