Celine Dion has been forced to cancel a handful of scheduled shows this week at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas due to illness The Canadian international superstar had only just made her return to The Colosseum to begin her summer residency on July 29 when the cancellation announcement was issued.

According to a news release posted July 30 at, the multi-Platinum selling singer has been diagnosed with an acute inflammation of the throat and ordered to rest her voice for eight days. The five-time Grammy winning singer has been prescribed anti-inflammatory medication and is expected to recover fully.

The following dates at Caesars Palace have been canceled: Wed., July 30, Fri. Aug. 1, Sat., Aug 2, Tues. Aug. 5 and Wed., Aug. 6. Full refunds will made available to ticket holders a point of purchase. The "My Heart Will Go On" hitmaker is scheduled to resume her residency beginning Fri, Aug. 8.

The world's best selling female artist recently announced a mini-tour of Asia, which will take her to several countries throughout the months of October and November. Produced by AEG Live, the multi-Platinum selling singer and her 15-piece band will perform a selection of her greatest hits and timeless classics as part of a production specially designed for Asia. The tour will see the Charlemagne, Quebec native make a return to Japan for four previously announced dates, including: Nov. 11 Nagoya, Japan – Nagoya Dome, Nov. 14 Osaka, Japan – Osaka Dome and Nov. 18 & 19 – Tokyo, Japan – Tokyo Dome. The Asian tour will be Dion's only concerts outside of Las Vegas in 2014.

Dion has been busy promoting her highly successful 2013 studio album Loved Me Back to Life and also recently added a total of 31 new shows to her second record-breaking residency at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, which will run from Dec. 30, 2014 - March 22, 2015 and include special New Year's shows.
