September 22nd is one of the sweetest holidays of the year – it’s National White Chocolate Day! In fact, there are several days of the year dedicated to decadent chocolate. There is Chocolate Day, National Chocolate Day, National Chocolate Milkshake Day, World Chocolate Day and National Fudge Day, to name a few.
The United States has enjoyed white chocolate since the 1950s. Did you know that white chocolate contains sugar, milk solids and cocoa butter? Technically, there is no chocolate in white chocolate! While some people celebrate National White Chocolate Day on September 22nd, others celebrate it on September 23. Why not celebrate on both days just to make sure you don’t miss it?
- White Chocolate Covered Strawberries – This delicious treat contains fresh strawberries, shortening and semi-sweet and white chocolate.
- Macadamia Nut Chewies with White Chocolate – This recipe, from Martin Larson, looks simply divine!
- Perfect White Chocolate Chip Cookies – This recipe, from the folks at HERSHEY’S, calls for butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla, white chips, baking soda, flour and cocoa.
- White Chocolate and Strawberry Cheesecake – You can’t have a chocolate holiday without a cheesecake recipe! You’ll need to make this recipe one day before eating. Makes 12 to 14 servings – unless you prefer big slices!
- Raspberry White Chocolate Mousse Cake
- White Chocolate Ice Cream – When is the last time you had homemade ice cream? Besides an ice cream maker, you’ll need white chocolate, whole milk, sugar, salt, heavy cream and eggs.
- White Chocolate Fudge – This recipe calls for tiny marshmallows, unblanched and toasted almonds and flaked coconut. Yum!
