Joseph Gordon-Levitt turns 32 today. Joseph was born on February 17, 1981 in Los Angeles, California. He has been acting since the young age of 7. He was in a couple movies and appeared on a few different TV series until he gained a starring role on the show “3rd Rock from the Sun.” He played Tommy for all six seasons of the series.
Joseph first gained movie fan attention when he gained a starring role in the 1999 movie “10 Things I Hate About You.” Joseph continued to be in multiple more independent films, including “Manic” (his first film with Zooey Deschanel), “Brick,” “The Lookout” and “Stop-Loss” to name a few.
In 2009, Joseph starred opposite Zooey Deschanel once again in the fantastic “(500) Days of Summer.” Joseph was able to show off his acting ability as a comedic and dramatic actor. His undeniable charm shone through the role and has made the movie a favorite of many. For the role of Tom Hansen, Joseph gained his first Golden Globe nomination.
Since “Summer,” Joseph has starred in some big films, including “G.I. Joe: The Rise of the Cobra,” “Inception,” “50/50,” “The Dark Knight Rises,” “Looper” and “Lincoln.” For his role in “50/50,” he deservingly gained his second Golden Globe nomination.
