Casa Abril Winery is expanding their wine list and the Range Café is offering them with a 10% discount this Friday, August 23rd. The Gift and Spirits shop at the Bernalillo Range location is the first outlet outside of the winery to sell these well-done wines. The Range Café will be sampling the Casa Abril Riesling, Muscat Canelli, Rosé, and Tempranillo. This is a great opportunity and venue to try Casa Abril’s wines in the rustic ambience that is the Range Café.
The wine list at Casa Abril has been steadily rising as they have added a number of white wines to their classic Tempranillo, Zinfandel and Malbec red wines and Tempranillo Rosé. More recently, winemakers Sheila and Raymond Vigil added Sangiovese to their red wine list. The Muscat Canelli and Riesling are off-dry white wines and the Sauvignon Blanc is a traditional dry white. This brings the count to nine wines made by Casa Abril.
The winery is located in Algodones, which includes the ever expanding vineyard and a lovely tasting room that overlooks the vineyard grounds. Like so many of New Mexico’s boutique wineries, Casa Abril is a family-run business and a warm greeting is assured when one visits the winery. Otherwise, stop by the Range Café to try these wines steeped in the Spanish heritage of the Vigil family.
The Range Café has three locations; two in Albuquerque at 4401 Wyoming NE and 2200 Menaul NE and the original at 925 Camino Del Pueblo in Bernalillo. Casa Abril Vineyards & Winery is at 01 Camino Abril Algodones, NM 87001. The tasting room is open from Thursday through Sunday from noon to 5 pm, or call 505-771-0208 for an appointment.
