Capcom explains why Okami HD is only coming to Playstation 3 and more (Photos)

Christian Svensson recently took his time to answer a few lingering fan questions regarding the upcoming Playstation 3 title, Okami HD. The Corporate Officer and Senior Vice-President of Capcom commented on why the remastered game is only coming to the Playstation 3, what version is the port based on and the possibility of a sequel. You can check out the latest screens in the slideshow at the top of this article and his responses below:

On why Okami HD is only coming to Playstation 3:

We wanted to focus the title on a single HD platform and given how well Okami worked on Wii, applying that functionality to Move made a lot of sense. There's no exclusivity or anything but no plans to move it to any other platforms at this time.

On whether or not the high-definition port is based on the Playstation 2 (which has the paper parchment visual effect) or Nintendo Wii version:

It was developed in Japan so I don't definitively know the answer. I know they had access to source code from both code bases but I'm unsure which was predominantly used. You can see the parchment effect in the PS3 HD trailer... so that's in. I don't know one way or the other about the credits frankly.

On the possibility of a sequel:

I too would love to see this however there's nothing currently in the works along these lines. Okamiden was a stab at doing more with the franchise and I'd encourage you to check it out if you haven't.

Okami HD will be released for the Playstation 3 in North America later this autumn.
