Today, Camilla, HRH the Duchess of Cornwall, paid homage to The Fab Four when she visited the Beatles Story museum in Liverpool following her Diamond Jubilee Tour last week to Norway, Sweden and Denmark. The Duchess was at the museum to unveil a new plaque commemorating the 50th anniversary of the formation of The Beatles. In August 1962, Ringo Starr officially joined the band resulting in The Fab Four as we know it of John, Paul, George and Ringo.

Turns out the Duchess is a big Beatles fan! Managing Director of The Beatles Story, Jerry Goldman, guided the Duchess around the Beatles attraction and said: “We’re very proud that she came to visit. It was her choice to come here. She told me she saw The Beatles live many times."

The Duchess was greeted at The Beatles Story by a representative dressed in a Sgt. Pepper costume. During her visit, she was entertained by The Beatles tribute act, The Mersey Beatles. At the end of her visit, she bought five Beatles t-shirts for her grandchildren.

The Beatles Story is expecting this 50th anniversary year along with the Summer Olympics in London to bring many visitors to Liverpool's Beatles sites. Take your own virtual magical mystery tour by clicking here to see more Beatles sites in Liverpool.
