Los Angeles Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich has just released data from the Department of Public Social Services which shows that in November 2010, $53 million in welfare benefits ($22 million CalWORKs and $31 million in Food Stamps) were given issued to illegal aliens for their U.S.-born children in Los Angeles County.
The record amount is an increase of almost $3 million from November 2009, and represents 22 percent of all CalWORKs and Food Stamp issuances in L.A. county.
In 2009, CalWORKs and Food Stamp benefits given to illegal aliens totaled almost $570 million. The total amount issued to illegal aliens cost in 2010, is estimated to be well over $600 million.
On Monday, Supervisor Antonovich told reporters: “When you add this to $550 million for public safety and nearly $500 million for healthcare, the total cost for illegal immigrants to county taxpayers exceeds $1.6 billion dollars a year -- not including the hundreds of millions of dollars for education.”
In August 2009, Antonovich made public the-then staggering amount which the taxpayers spent on illegal aliens, living in L.A. County. In June 2009 alone, the county paid out $48 million to the children of illegal aliens, an increase of $10 million over June 2007.
$26 million of that total came in the form of Food Stamps, while another $22 million was given to the illegal alien families in welfare checks.That is in addition to the more than $1 billion that the county spends annually on the medical treatment, education, emergency services, and incarceration of illegal aliens.
These figures continuously rising amounts explain why not only L.A. County, but the entire state of California are now in financial ruin.
In 2003, the American Southwest saw 77 hospitals enter bankruptcy due to unpaid medical bills incurred by illegal aliens. A staggering 84 hospitals in California, have been forced to close their doors because of the growing crisis. Hospitals which manage to remain open, then pass the unpaid costs onto the rest of us, which translates into more out-of-pocket expenses and higher insurance premiums for all Americans.
With 20 percent actual unemployment, huge trade deficits due to the loss of our manufacturing base, and a soaring national debt, we simply cannot afford to pay the bills for this nation’s illegal alien population.
If we are to once again find ourselves on firm financial footing, we can no longer accept elected representatives who choose to better represent a foreign national population, rather than those of us who actually pay their salaries.
Illegal immigration is slowly but surely destroying this nation.

Californians are so far in debt it will be hard to dig out! Apparently the citizens want to spend money on illegal aliens? Either that or they are unaware they are being stolen from and used by a growing invading people?
Not true! Illegal alien welfare was forced on California. We voted in Proposition 187 in 1994 that banned welfare to illegal aliens and the courts and Bill Clinton negated that vote, promising to fix illegal immigration at the federal level. Sound familiar?
But Jeb Bush says we need more illegals and to reach out to them by giving them whatever they want or the republicans won't win in 2012 or beyond.
I love Mr.Antonovich, way back when I lived in Sylmar, Ca. I became aware of what he is saying, and it set me on the road to protest. Though I still live in his jurisdiction, the situation has only gotten worse! Daily I try to some way solve this out of control situation.
for the real numbers don't leave education, incarceration, and then SS payments to older immigrants who didn't pay into the system. its probably more like 2-3x (5 billion+?). indeed immigration AND illegal immigration is absolutely destroying not just California but the entire country.
It's quite obvious that the powers that really run these United States

All of this (illegal alien costs) is illegal it would never have been allowed in the past.

In the People's Republic of Illinois, the lame duck Democrats led by Gov. Quinn passed a 57% income tax hike on the last day the Dems were in power. Now Quinn wants a $1/pack cigarette tax for better "education!" Chicago is a destination for Mexican invaders and for their coocoo bird Anchor Baby children. The IQ 85 voters think the tax producers will continue to feed the parasite class forever and ever, but they have another thing coming.
I moved out of California 2 years ago, what had been a great place to live is now a cesspool of crime, low wages, no work, and lots of illegal invaders and whacko liberals running the state now. My salary had declined year to year over the past half decade while in SoCal, until I was let go as the illegals were cheaper to keep working. At our local high school, over 25% of the hispanic girls were pregnant, and more than 20% of toss pregnant were expecting their 2nd child! Gang members run the schools, drugs are rampant in them as well. Illegal invaders have done nothing but brought misery and depression to our country.
Illegal aliens don't care about CA debt - they want more free benefits.

If california would confiscate and crush their cars when pulled over withoutlicense or insurance, weather it is their car, or their employers, the state would make millions on Scrap, and keep them off our roads,cut down on Our insurance costs. I also feel citizens should be given a tax reward for turning in companies that hire illegals. It is against the Law! If everyone got a tax reward for their information, the state would be free of illegals in a year, or less!! Money talks,,and it might wake a few people up! Our school costs, medical costs, insurance , legal costs jails etc. would reflect a strong monitary gain.

Forget California, it's long lost to the illegal invasion. It's way too late to help that state. Better to spend your energy on how you can prevent your own state from becoming another sanctuary state for the poorest, least educated, least skilled and criminally inclined element of Mexico.
