Two people were reportedly shot at the Taft Union High School in Taft, Calif. on the morning of Jan. 10, 2013.
UPDATE: KGET reports that a male student entered a classroom at the high school and shot both a teacher and one student. The classroom was on the second floor of a science building.
KATV reports that a Kern County sheriff's spokesman states that the shooter has been taken into custody and that a shotgun may have been used in the attack.
Fox News reports that the Kern County Fire Department confirms that one victim refused treatment at the scene and the other was transported to a hospital.
23ABC News is reporting that their news station received phone calls from people inside the school who were hiding in closest at Taft Union High School. Authorities are sweeping the school now.
KGET is reporting that students were evacuated to the football field at approximately 9 a.m. At least three ambulances and a medevac helicopter were sent to the scene of the shooting.
He is preparing to make recommendations to the president by Tuesday. Today he is meeting with sportsmen's groups about tougher gun laws.
