Three men were arrested Sunday night on burglary charges accused of entering a Lindenhurst home at gunpoint to steal cash and cell phones, Suffolk County Police said.
Around 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, three men, one of whom was armed with a handgun, forced their way into a home on Feustal Street, cops said. The men then demanded cash and cell phones from a resident and the friend of a resident. After the victims complied with the demands, the men allegedly fled from the scene on foot.
First Precinct patrol officers and Canine Section units canvassed the neighborhood and found the three men a short time later, cops said.
Jeffrey Artiles, 18, and Yamil Miesseulerio, 24, of 126 Brentwood Pkwy., as well as Jonathan Sanchez, 26, of 186 Commercial Blvd., were charged with first-degree burglary and first-degree robbery in connection with the home invasion. Artiles was additionally charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
According to court records, both Artiles and Miesseulerio have open criminal cases in Suffolk County. Artiles was reportedly out on $20K bond in Suffolk County and $25K bond in Queens County, during the time of the alleged burglary. Miesseulerio was released on Jan. 19 on an open felony stolen property charge after posting $30K bond, records show.
The trio was scheduled to be arraigned on the newest charges Monday at First District Court in Central Islip.
