The shift codes are bundled together for the Mac and PC versions of “Borderlands 2.” Furthermore, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 players have to enter a unique set of vouchers in order to acquire the three golden keys. The codes must be inputed through the “Extras” option from the main menu of the open-world role-playing game.
Shift codes have been periodically released for “Borderlands 2” since the sequel was released for the Mac, PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2012. The product has sold 7 million units so far across the four platforms.
That number is expected to expand even further in 2014 due to the release of “Borderlands 2” on the Playstation Vita. The portable iteration is currently being developed by Iron Galaxy Studios and will be published by Sony Computer Entertainment. The shift codes should also be supported in the Playstation Vita version.
