Randy Pitchford stated today that the success that the “Borderlands” franchise has seen has helped fund all other Gearbox Software developed games. The comment is in light of recent allegations that the company took money earmarked for “Aliens: Colonial Marines” and used it to help create “Borderlands 2” instead. Pitchford, President of Gearbox Software, says this couldn’t be further from the truth. “Think opposite,” he said on his Twitter account as he stated that “Borderlands 2” profits have been used by the developer as investment to help pay for all other Gearbox Software games, including “Aliens: Colonial Marines.” Today he went on to clarify the following.
Gearbox has invested lots of its own money into all of its games. Certainly Borderlands profits are a part of that.
Randy Pitchford has allows presented himself as an entertainer who wishes only to please fans. Gearbox Software recent releases, “Borderlands 2” and “Aliens: Colonial Marines,” are both out now on the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC.
