‘Borderlands 2’ developer still claims they are working on a new character class

Randy Pitchford, President of Gearbox Software, today confirmed that the developer is currently working on creating a sixth playable character for the popular co-op shooter, “Borderlands 2.” After being asked about the possibility of a new class on Twitter, Pitchford responded, “Almost certainly yes. We're working on it.” With Gearbox Software still currently developing an additional character class, “Borderlands 2” fans can expect the game’s second DLC added playable character in the game’s future.

This would give gamers a total of six playable character classes to play in “Borderlands 2.” The game currently features five classes, including the four Vault Hunters who shipped with the game and the first DLC-based character, Gaige the Mechromancer.

Borderlands 2” is out now for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC from developer Gearbox Software. Three campaign DLC add-ons have already released for the game with one more to go to finish out the title’s first Season Pass content.
