"Borderlands 2" is coming this Spring and its bringing the new PS Vita Slim with it. While we now know that the March 18 release date for the Vita version of the popular Sci-Fi game isn't accurate, we do know its coming sometime in the next few months. News surfaced on Monday that the title is getting its mobile port release along with Sony's newest iteration of its handheld gaming device.
The PS Vita Slim isn't a huge upgrade over the current models, though it is rumored to be slightly skinnier and a bit lighter. The big change between the two versions is the slim has an LCD screen as opposed to an OLED. According to some side-by-side comparisons, the LCD screen has a slightly sharper picture. The battery life on the slim also reportedly brings another hour of gameplay, meaning you can have six uninterrupted hours of shoot-em-up RPG fun with "Borderlands 2" when it hits.
Those who think that this port will be like "The Walking Dead" and will just be a straight port shrunk down for the handheld need to think again. Gearsoft has reportedly tweaked the gameplay to take advantage of the unique features that the portable gaming device brings. There are pinch-to-zoom maps, swipeable inventory screens and other little additions here and there.
The best news of all is that when the game is released for the Vita it will be coming with all six DLC packs included. Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty, Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage, the Psycho Character Class, the Mechromancer Character Class, the Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 1, AND the Collector's Edition Pack will also be in one neat little package.
We can hardly wait to get our grubby little paws all over the new "Borderlands 2" for PS Vita Slim when it lands this Spring.
