Will the Blue Angels be canceled permanently if a sequester in Washington can't be avoided? According to a Mar. 1 report by Inquisitr, that's a very real possibility and the impressive Blue Angels would have to be grounded.
The Navy Blue Angels have been one of the biggest entertainment features at air shows around the U.S. and the world. If President Obama and congressional leaders cannot reach a deal Friday, $85 billion in cuts will be made in the federal budget -- resulting in the Blue Angels being canceled indefinitely.
In June, the Ocean City Air Show plans to have the Blue Angels as part of their event, but if the sequester goes through, the famous Naval aircraft won't make an appearance.
Military cuts across the board are expected if a sequester isn't avoided. The Blue Angels are part of the American fabric as far as air shows and a military trademarks go. If the jets are grounded indefinitely, it will be a sad day for the American public. If reality hasn't hit how severe spending cuts will be, cancelling the Blue Angels in air shows will certainly be a reminder. Skilled pilots have done amazing sky aerobatics with the planes spectators will surely miss.
