Blackbird has released a quartet of new skin-care products for the fashion forward fellow who takes his skin care as serious as his wardrobe.
Inspired by the incredible popularity of their Blackbird beard oil, the creative minds at the company sat down with their beakers, blueprints, and protractors to come up with an equally excellent shave program.
The Blackbird aftershave ($38 for four ounces) is designed to calm skin, close pores and balance PH of freshly shaven or waxed skin, or used at anytime to refresh dry skin. It draws on an ingredient list that includes organic aloe, witch hazel, willowbark extract, tea tree oil and peppermint oil. It finishes with a refreshing scent of peppermint and geranium.
Blackbird's shaving oil ($38 for two ounces) is designed to be used on its own for shaving or as a pre-shave oil to prepare hair for shaving. The blend features tamanu oil, a healing agent with skin healing, anti-neuralgic, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antibiotic and antioxidant properties; as well as benzoin, which heals cuts and razor burn along with being a natural antidepressant due to its calming abilities; and frankincense to help tighten pores. It's ingredient list also contains coconut oil and a touch of fragrance.
Their black licorice soap ($38 for 8 ounces) is described as "extra moisturizing with the combination of aloe and glycerine designed to draw moisture from the atmosphere and absorb it where it's needed most." As you can imagine, it is inspired by black licorice, which has been a staple of Blackbird since the opening of the Blackbird Candy Shoppe in 2009. As an added note, the packaging is inspired by Russian artist Kazamir Malevich and his minimal paintings from the early 1900s.
Last but not least, Blackbird's Beard Oil ($38 for two ounces) is made with argan oil to keep unruly hair looking glossy, healthy and managed, reduce itchiness, and moisturize the skin underneath the beard without clogging pores. It's lightly scented with cedar and enjoyed by men and women alike.
According to an e-mail sent to customers, the company is promising "more new products emerging constantly from the Blackbird design citadel.:
The line can be purchased at several retail locations as well as BlackbirdBallard.com.
