On Tuesday, several dozen birthers protested on the steps of the Supreme Court building in Washington ahead of the high court's Feb. 15 conference that will assess whether Barack Obama should have been eligible for the presidential ballot in 2008. Dr. Orly Taitz, who is among the leading voices in the birther movement, posted photos of the protest on her website on Wednesday.
Supporters from Tennessee, Nevada, Pennsylvania, New York, California, Virginia, Maryland, New Jersey and Washington D.C. attended the protest. Organizers plan on staging another rally in front of the Supreme Court on Feb. 15. [See birther evidence.]
On that day, lower-level associates will review Barack Hussein Obama's eligibility to hold political office in the United States. The case is identified as Edward Noonan, et al., v. Deborah Bowen, California Secretary of State.
Birthers contend that Obama used forged government documents and a stolen social security number in order to campaign for political office. The evidence involves a suspicious birth certificate form previously submitted by Obama's campaign staff which contains a variety of digital manipulations. Secondly, Obama has never publicly released his passport records (which were tampered by three State Department employees in 2008), as well as, college transcripts. Last year, Democrat campaign ads blasted Mitt Romney for the Republican's lack of disclosure on tax returns.
However, the president ignored Donald Trump's challenge to disclose his college and passport records in exchange for a $5 million donation to a charity of Obama's choosing. The allegation is that Obama attended Occidental College, Columbia University, and possibly Harvard Law School, as a foreign exchange student.
In 2008, Fox News contacted nearly 200 alumni and professors at Columbia and none of them recalled meeting a Barry Soetoro or Barack Obama. Birthers have also found suspicious errors on Obama's Selective Service registration, as well as, his social security number.
The SSN apparently fails the government's own E-Verify system and generates the name "Harrison J. Bounel". Bounel appears to be a relative of Michelle Robinson Obama. The incidence was first reported in the mid-2000s when a background check was conducted on Barack Obama when he was in the process of purchasing a home in Chicago. The purchase became a public scandal when it was discovered that Obama had received a favorable price (worth hundreds of thousands of dollars) on his mansion from a convicted felon and lobbyist.
In January, just days before Obama's second inauguration, Chief Justice John Roberts sent the birther case for distribution in conference on Feb. 15. However, only about one percent of such cases are elevated for further review by all nine justices of the Supreme Court.
Even if the birther case does not advance in the nation's highest court, Obama may not be fully out of the hook. The man previously known as Barry Soetoro is also facing similar lawsuits in California and Washington, among other states.
