On Thursday, Newsbusters reported that the so-called "Big Three" networks -- ABC, NBC and CBS -- were silent about reports the Obama Justice Department picked an Obama donor to investigate the Obama IRS scandal involving the targeting of conservatives during 2010 and 2012.

ABC, NBC and CBS, however, devoted 17 times more coverage to the traffic scandal involving Chris Cristie in just 24 hours than they offered on the IRS scandal since July 1, Geoffrey Dickens reported.

According to Dickens, the network 34 minutes and 28 seconds to the scandal known as "Bridgegate" in just one day. In contrast, they have given a grand total of 2 minutes and 8 seconds on the IRS scandal, Dickens added.

As we reported Thursday, Attorney General Eric Holder picked Barbara Bosserman, a trial attorney with the Department of Justice, to head the investigation.

Bosserman, however, has donated a significant amount of money to the Obama campaign and the Democrat National Committee.

While the obvious conflict of interest went unnoticed by ABC, NBC and CBS, it did not go unnoticed by Rep. Darrell Issa and a conservative legal organization.

Issa, along with Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, sent a letter to Holder calling the appointment inappropriate.

The conservative legal group ACLJ -- an organization representing 41 other groups suing the IRS -- also weighed in.

“Appointing an avowed political supporter of President Obama to head up the Justice Department probe is not only disturbing but puts politics right in the middle of what is supposed to be an independent investigation to determine who is responsible for the Obama administration’s unlawful targeting of conservative and tea party groups,” said chief counsel Jay Sekulow.

But it seems ABC, NBC and CBS couldn't be bothered by something like a conflict of interest from a Democrat administration picking a campaign donor to investigate itself.

No question, if the administration in place were a Republican one, the networks would be covering it day and night.

Incidents like this are the reason we refer to the so-called "mainstream media as the "Democrat-media complex." It is also one reason why a majority no longer trust the media.
