The “Big Brother” season 16 Power of Veto competition was held several days ago in week 3 of the game. On July 14, 2014, a ceremony took place to determine if the house guest who won the competition would use the medallion to save one of the nominated cast mates up for eviction.
According to Big Brother Network, there seemed to be a consensus among all of the house guests about what should take place and aim was focused on one particular contestant. Those watching the live feeds broadcast from inside the “Big Brother” house reported on Sunday night that some cast members had decided that if the POV was not used, the person who had won it may become a target next week, Joker's Updates reports.
Spoilers reveal that the winner of the POV, Donny, used it to save Jocasta who had been nominated for eviction alongside Caleb by current HOH Derrick. As the HOH, Derrick had to replace Jocasta with another cast member and Devin was chosen to fill her spot on the eviction block.
Big Brother Network reports that after the ceremony, house guests appeared to be emotional and were congratulating and hugging one another. In addition, Derrick thanked Donny for using the veto, which allowed him to nominate Devin.
The move to backdoor Devin had been planned because doing so does not allow him to take part in any sort of competition to remove himself from the block. The only chance Devin has to stay in the “Big Brother” house at this point is to convince his fellow cast members that he should remain in the game and that Caleb should go home.
“Big Brother” season 16 airs on Sundays at 8/7c, Wednesdays at 8/7c, with live eviction shows airing on Thursdays at 9/8c on CBS. In addition, “Big Brother: After Dark” is airing Monday and Tuesday nights at 11/10c, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights at 12/11c, and Thursdays at 1/12c on TVGN.
