Fans of the popular CBS reality show who have commented on the website believe the rumor about Amanda winning such a power to be untrue.
Just days ago, the showmance of McCrae and Amanda, or McCranda, was nominated for eviction by current Head of Household GinaMarie. Amanda became enraged by what she viewed as a betrayal and went on a mini tirade in the house.
Nonetheless, McCrae won the Power of Veto competition and will likely take himself off the block during the Veto meeting on Monday. This left Amanda vulnerable and set to go home on Thursday’s live show and a majority of the house guests want her gone.
According to Celebrity Dirty Laundry, even before the "Big Brother" POV contest was played, a luxury competition was held in which house guests were required to pop balloons for prizes, and in so doing, Amanda discovered a token which was the Diamond Power of Veto. If it were true, she would be able to take herself off the eviction block and nominate someone of her choosing to take her place.
The article also states that producers had predetermined Amanda would win the game because she is good friends with "Big Brother" producer Allison Grodner, so because she was in jeopardy of going home this week, production likely came up with a scheme to save her.
Those commenting on the story have written, “Amanda didn’t win ANY POV…,” and “…If Amanda had actually won a special power then every Big Brother fan site would be covering it. That would be huge news…,” and “…Amanda did not get a diamond POV. We will see if she did or not on Thursday.”
Nevertheless, one commenter on Morty's TV, TV Fan Forums site wrote about the rumor, “I DID hear Amanda talking about a token and Production would tell her how to use it in the DR. If this happens and it is a special power I will no longer watch. I realize the game is tilted but to outright make someone a winner is to much interference.”
But a skeptical commenter on the same forum wrote, “BTW… didn’t you hear that Elvis was still alive, 9/11 was a hoax and that the Holocaust never happened?? I just love conspiracy theories… at least they make me laugh!”
CBS' “Big Brother” airs Wednesdays and Sundays at 8 pm ET, and Thursdays at 9 pm.
