Aaryn Gries, the “Big Brother 15” contestant who lost a modeling contract over racist and homophobic remarks she uttered on the show, may now be writing a book that details her experiences in the “Big Brother” house and the controversy regarding the offensive statements she made, according to a Sept. 19, 2013 Hollywood Reporter story.
“I’m thinking about a book… I’m hoping to help other people learn from my experience and not get themselves into a similar situation. We’ll see,” Aaryn said.”
She also said she was completely surprised about the questions Julie Chen asked her during her exit interview upon her eviction from “Big Brother 15.” Aaryn stated she had thought she was going to talk about the game, so she “was thrown off.”
Aaryn, 22, was seen on live feeds coming from inside the “Big Brother 15” house and in a montage on an episode of the show, uttering a number of racial and gay slurs.
Just a few of them included her referring to Candice, a black house mate, saying, “Be careful what you say in the dark, might not be able to see the b****,” referring to Andy, a Gay cast member, stating, “No one’s going to vote for whoever that q**** puts up,” and speaking about Helen, an Asian house guest, Aaryn said, “Shut up! Go make some rice.”
Despite the 24-hour live feeds that allowed fans to watch everything that was said and done in the “Big Brother 15” house without any editing involved, Aaryn continued to insist, “Some of the things were taken out of contexts…” according to THR.
Nevertheless, Aaryn apologized for her statements and told the publication she regrets what she said and “never wanted to hurt or offend anyone…”
In addition, Candice spoke with CBS 2 after the “Big Brother 15” finale, saying she has become friends with Aaryn and believes she is a changed woman.
