‘Big Bang Theory’ cast celebrates four years of success

The “Big Bang Theory cast celebrated four years of success on the show at PaleyFest this week, The Huffington Post reported on Mar. 13.

According to the report, “Big Bang Theory” has gained serious fans in the past four years, and the show just keeps getting more popular.

However, in 2009, when the series first debuted, it wasn’t even in the top 40. So, what has changed to skyrocket the show about lovable nerds into ratings gold?

According to the “Big Bang Theory” cast, it’s syndication. Over the past four years, various networks such as TBS and Fox have picked up the series to run as re-runs.

"You're kind of forced to watch the show now," joked actor Simon Helberg, who plays Howard Wolowitz on the hit show. "We're shoving it down people's throats, and then they're learning that they love that."

“Big Bang Theory” has become a favorite among younger viewers over the past four years, and often is at the top of the ratings for the coveted 18-49 age group. The show’s other stars, Kaley Cuoco, Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, Mayim Bialik, Melissa Rauch, and Kunal Nayyar, have kept fans laughing for four seasons, and plan to continue the ride.
