According to an ABC News report on Feb. 15, not only is "Row, row, row your boat," her daughter's favorite song, but one-year-old Blue Ivy and her husband Jay-Z are the anchors that have enabled her to row the boat of a star-studded career into new waters. In fact, Beyonce was quoted saying, “I would not be the woman I am if I did not go home to that man.”
It was only two years ago that Beyonce took the oars of her career from the hands of her father, and became her own manager. One steady step after another has followed, leading to Beyonce's current confidence that she can control her destiny.
New waters for Beyonce is her upcoming documentary, "Life is but a Dream," that she described to Oprah as an "interesting" experience. After all, to both direct and produce the autobiography of her own life, required that Beyonce step back and view herself, present and past, as an objective observer might.
In Beyonce's own words, she had to "see [my] life as if it wasn't me." Her HBO documentary will air at 9 p.m. ET on Oprah's network, OWN. Until then, Beyonce is taking deep breaths, concerned about how her fans will respond.
Will they be happy with the woman she reveals behind the celebrity mystery curtain or be disappointed? To unmask the mystique was a gamble, she'll find out Saturday night if she won.
