One Direction, Beyonce and Justin Bieber were all working hard during the summer of 2013. The top ticket sales for the 2013 summertime were released on Wednesday by StubHub, the world’s largest ticket marketplace. Don’t be too surprised, but the British band One Direction tops the list of the 10 biggest musical acts when ticket sales are tallied up.
According to ticket selling company, the British boy band dominated StubHub concert ticket sales this season, followed byBeyonce, concert performances with the duo Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake and Justin Bieber rounds out the top three. Other entertainers on the top ten list included Maroon 5, Luke Bryan, Pink, The Rolling Stones and Pearl Jam.
"Now, more than ever, younger generations are flocking to see their favorite artists, like One Direction and Justin Bieber, while popular bands like The Rolling Stones and Pearl Jam continue to attract record-breaking crowds.” said Alison Salcedo a spokesperson for StubHub told Examiner.com exclusively. “These numbers are good indicators of the strength and broad appeal of live music entertainment."
It appears the fans continue to make room in their budgets for live music and the entertainers keep pumping out great shows. It sounds like the Summer of 2013 was a memory for music fans to remember.
