Chris Carter had just finished playing “Hey Jude” during his 30th anniversary “Breakfast With the Beatles” broadcast special Dec. 15 on KLOS-FM when one of his producers told him the phone was ringing. After Carter said “Hello, who's this?”, the voice on the other end of the line said, “Yeah, hi, is that Chris Carter?” “Yes, it is,” Carter answered. “Well guess what? It's Ringo calling you” and the packed studio erupted with applause.

Starr phoned in to wish Carter and the show a happy 30th anniversary and was in a very joking mood. “You don't look a day over 25,” Starr told him. “Ringo, it's so good to hear your voice,” Carter said. “I know!,” the Beatle answered back.

Carter talked to Ringo about the upcoming charity gig with the All-Starr Band at the El Rey Theater in January. “I love the El Rey. I played there once before with the Roundheads, another band I had,” he said.

Carter also mentioned about the upcoming 50th anniversary celebrations, which Ringo acknowledged. “It'll be a busy time for Beatle buddies,” said the drummer.

You can see video of the show when Ringo called in on this page. You can see more of the show that also featured Micky Dolenz, Brian Ray, Peter Asher, Edgar Winter, Laurence Juber, Beatles news reporter Jackie DeShannon, and Barry Livingston (“My Three Sons”) and others on video on the KLOS-FM website.
