When Paul McCartney switched his June Out There! tour dates to October on June 9, he managed to avoid any of his new shows competing directly with Ringo, who had just added a bunch of new shows that same month. Only two Ringo and Paul shows are the same night, but they won't be close to each other.
McCartney's opening date in Lubbock, Texas, on Oct. 2 at United Spirit Arena will be one state away from Ringo, who'll be in Tulsa, Okla. the same night at the Hard Rock Café. The two venues are roughly 450 miles apart. And on Oct. 15, McCartney will be Atlanta Ga., at Philips Arena, while Ringo will be in Charleston, S.C., at North Charleston Performing Arts Center, about 300 miles away.
But for anyone wanting to do a Beatles field trip, there are a couple of possibilities. Ringo will be in Houston, Texas, at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion on Oct. 10, and McCartney will be in Dallas at American Airlines Center on Oct. 13. Those two are roughly 250 miles apart, a roughly 3 1/2 hour drive.
And McCartney will play Oct. 15 at Philips Arena in Atlanta, Ga., and Oct. 16 at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena. Ringo will be in Biloxi, Miss. on Oct. 17 at Hard Rock Café Biloxi. The Nashville to Biloxi shows are a day apart and about 500 miles from each other, while the Atlanta and Biloxi shows are two days apart and about 385 miles apart.

More new books: Coming next month is “From Me to You: Song the Beatles Covered and Songs They Gave Away” by Brian Southall, a look from both sides of songs they covered and other versions of their own songs.
