Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr have been hanging out with some famous names. On March 27, Ringo tweeted out a picture of himself and the legendary Van Dyke Parks. “The incredible bang (cq) Dyke Parks peace and love peace and look what a day we had R***” Here's hoping he's on Ringo's forthcoming album.
Earlier in the week, Marvel Comics founder Stan Lee tweeted out a picture of himself and Paul McCartney. “Your #Generalissimo gets a compliment from one of the greats, Sir @PaulMcCartney,” Lee wrote.
New Julian video: Julian Lennon announced by email March 27 he released new videos for “Guess It Was Me” in both acoustic and album versions from “Everything Changes.” The acoustic album versions are available as an mp3 download. In our interview with him, he discussed releasing songs from the album in separate acoustic versions. He says he will release additional acoustic videos throughout the year.
Yoko Ono and Sean Lennon best dressed: Sean Lennon and Yoko Ono were featured in a "Best Dressed" feature in Harper's Bazaar by Mr. Blasberg.
Epstein play kicks off in London: The cast and producers of “Epstein: The Man Who Made The Beatles,” the play about Beatles manager Brian Epstein, visited London’s Leicester Square Theatre last week to officially launch the show’s initial six-week run at the venue this summer. Andrew Lancel (“Coronation Street,” “The Bill”) and actor Will Finlason return to the roles of Brian Epstein and the fictional character ‘This Boy’ respectively, from the show's run in Liverpool, where it premiered in November 2012 as part of the city’s official Beatles 50th anniversary celebrations at the Epstein Theatre. Besides being poshumously inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Epstein will be honored this year with a commemorative blue plaque at the London offices of Epstein’s company NEMS.
