For one bartender in Springfield, Oregon a tip of two lottery tickets yielded the biggest tip she ever received, as reported by The Register-Guard on Friday, October 11.
Aurora Kephart who works at Conway’s Restaurant and Lounge in Springfield, Oregon, was given two lottery tickets as a tip by one of her regular clients. The first ticket was a $5 winner, which would have made anyone happy, but the second ticket was something more of what we might see in a Hollywood screenplay. Kephart scratched the second tickets and found it to be a $17,500 winner.
“The look on his face was incredible,” Kephart told The Register-Guard newspaper. “I automatically handed it back to him; it was his ticket.”
After being handed the ticket, her regular refused to take it, telling Kephart it was her ticket and instructed her sign the back of it ensuring the prize would be hers.
Kephart claimed her winnings the next day, and gave some back to her benefactor.
“I just couldn’t not give him some of it,” she said.
Kephart reportedly plans to buy herself a new couch with her tip, and save the rest.
