Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale is a huge success (Photos)

Sunday wraps up one of the greatest events held each year in our country, the Barrett-Jackson auto auction in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Known far and wide as "The World’s Greatest Collector Car Auctions," Barrett-Jackson sets the pace when it comes to auto auctions, and as is the case with Barrett-Jackson, you never know what you might see.

The particular Scottsdale auctions is the largest event in the company’s 42 year history. Almost 1, 400 classics, exotics, muscle cars, Hot Rods, Resto-Mods and contemporary collectibles hit the auction block, setting a new world record for the largest offering of No Reserve vehicles at one auction.

This auction was also the place to be if you like Shelbys.

Over 40 Shelby automobiles were ready to be sold ranging from a stellar 1965 GT350, previously owned by Ford, to a 2012 GT500 50th Anniversary Super Snake to the rarest Shelby Mustang in existence, “The Green Hornet”. Bidders had the chance to bid on these legendary vehicles. The company also honored Carroll Shelby, one of the world’s greatest automotive icons, during the weeklong event, and the namesake for the Shelby model of Mustangs and more.

“At Scottsdale we try to bring together the very best in car collecting for our bidders, and the 2013 Scottsdale auction is a perfect example of that,” said Craig Jackson, Chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson. “Whether you’re a Shelby fan or classic die-hard, this is the most impressive group of vehicles we’ve ever offered at one auction in the 42 years of Barrett-Jackson. We look forward to sharing this experience with our consigners, bidders and fans.”

The 2013 Scottsdale auction also sets the standard for the number of car tents in the exhibitor pavilion, which will feature more vendors and sponsors than ever before.

It's a great event, and it ends Sunday.
