Today, April 1st, is famous for being April Fools Day; the day people play pranks on each other in honor of… well I don’t know what it’s in honor of, we just do it. April is also Alcohol Awareness Month, National Decorating Month, National Kite Month and National Pets Are Wonderful Month. Who knew? However, when you’re the romance examiner, you can’t talk about April Fools Day, or pets, or alcohol awareness, which is why I’d like to point out that April 1st also marks the first day of National Couple Appreciation Month!
National Couple Appreciation Month was founded by Blissful Escapes “to encourage couples to do something special to re-enforce and celebrate their relationship.” In today’s busy world it can be very easy to take your significant other for granted, especially when you’ve been together for a long time.
It doesn’t take expensive dinner or gifts to show someone you care. Keeping that in mind, in the spirit of Couple Appreciation Month, tell them "I love you," cook them dinner "just because it's Wednesday," or leave a quick note on the mirror to make them smile. Take a minute to think about how much more enjoyable your sweetie makes your life, then tell them about it. It doesn't have to be a grand gesture, just take this month to reconnect with your honey and spend some quality time together.
