Jennifer Aniston and Miley Cyrus are not alone in following a "shedding for the wedding" diet. Pop princess and diva designer Avril Lavigne has announced her plans for a "badass" wedding gown, and she follows a virtuous "90 percent vegan" plan that often includes macrobiotic meals to help her vie for honors as the sleekest bride this season.
Talking with reporters after presenting her spring collection of her Abbey Dawn attire, Avril said she would design her own "badass" wedding dress or collaborate with someone else (memo to Avril: might not want to mention it to aspiring designer Katie Holmes), reported the Associated Press on September 11. However, although her wedding gown design may look "badass," her mood has changed since she stopped eating too many carbs and learned to follow a healthy diet, she told ShapeFit.
"I was eating bad stuff," Avril said. "Lots of sugar and carbs, junk food all the time. It makes you very irritated. I spent some time with a nutritionist and learned I had low blood sugar. Now I eat accordingly," following a diet that is "90 percent vegan." She enjoys cooking vegetarian dishes. In addition, she often follows a macrobiotic diet, telling People magazine that following that plan "makes me feel completely healthy. When I tour, I stuff fridges full of organic food and stick to that."
