John Lennon Series book author Jude Southerland Kessler tells Beatles Examiner that “She Loves You,” the third book in her enhanced biography series on John Lennon, is on its way to the printers and will be out in early February. The book covers his life in 1963 beginning with his trip to the Spanish Riviera with Brian Epstein to late in the year when the Beatles are booked for "The Ed Sullivan Show."
“It will be out Feb. 7-9 for the 50th anniversary of The Beatles coming to America,” she said.
And the book's unveiling will mark a busy time for her. The initial release will be Feb. 7 at Penn State's Beatles International Conference, chaired by Dr. Ken Womack. "I'll also be a guest speaker at the conference with Mark Lewisohn and Andy Babiuk," she said.
“On Feb. 9, I'm having a big release party at the Fest for Beatles Fans in Manhattan. The next week, Northeastern Louisiana University in Monroe, LA. is hosting a week-long Beatles festival centered on the book's release. The college orchestra is doing a Beatles concert (and) the acting department is featuring a showing of 'A Hard Day's Night' that I'll be introducing with a speech before the show and a Q and A after the show. The art department is doing a one-man-show of (NLU professor of lithography) Enoch Doyle Jeter's 14 original lithographs for the book. And the English Department is hosting a reception/book signing.
“Then, the last few days of February and the first of March, the University of Pennsylvania is flying me up for a speaking engagement and book release since I lived in Philly for six years and wrote 'Shoulda Been There' in Philly. I also have a book signing scheduled at a Philadelphia location, and I'm going to invite Larry (Kane) to join me since he wrote the foreword for the book. Dr. David McKnight, the university historical curator, who has been a reader of The John Lennon Series since 1998, is the chairperson for the event.”
She said Beatles recording engineer Richard Langham is also considering flying over since he was the consultant for the recording session chapters.
