The Austin Mini Maker Faire was held at the Travis County Expo Center on Saturday, May 3. The event featured over 150 participating maker groups who specialized in a variety of arts, crafts, and technologies. It featured an outdoor area in which Stunt Ranch showed off fire-based movie effects and art cars were on display. TechShop Rocketry conducted rocket launch demos as well. The Austin Bike Zoo had an interactive carnival in the outdoor area of the Mini Maker Faire.

The Mini Maker Faire fiiled the Expo Center’s main building with many exhibits, including the Austin Planetarium and Sky Candy’s Hang Fly for aerial arts. Several toy related exhibits were set up, including a make your own soap booth where you could choose what toy to put in the center of the soap bar.
