'Argo' and Ben Affleck win big at the 70th annual Golden Globes (Video)

"Argo" and director Ben Affleck took home the gold at last night's Golden Globes Awards, less than a week after Affleck was snubbed from inclusion in the Oscar nominations. On the small screen, it was Showtime's hit drama, "Homeland," that won big, as well as Lena Dunham's HBO series, "Girls." The Globes, handed out by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, were held for the 70th time, hosted this time around by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.

"Argo" surprisingly won for Best Picture - Drama over Lincoln, which was considered the front-runner. Even more surprisingly, Ben Affleck won for Best Director over the likes of Quentin Tarantino, Ang Lee, Kathryn Bigelow and Steven Spielberg. In a pretty funny twist, he forgot to thank some of the producers during his acceptance speech - one of which was George Clooney - but his wife, Jennifer Garner, presented another award soon after and took her time on stage to thank those that her husband forgot.

"Lincoln" did take home the award in the Best Actor - Drama category, with Daniel Day-Lewis winning. He was the closest thing to a lock in the category and his win comes as no surprise. For Best Actress - Drama, Jessica Chastain took home the honor for her role in "Zero Dark Thirty."

"Les Miserables" was also a big winner at the awards, winning for Best Picture - Comedy or Musical and also landing prizes for Hugh Jackman (Best Actor) and Anne Hathaway (Best Supporting Actress).
