Arcade Fire and Drake head up a Canadian contingent of nominees at the 2014 Brit Awards.

According to an article posted Jan. 9 at Independent.co.uk, the Montreal-based indie rockers and Toronto rap superstar are among an elite list of international artists nominated for the U.K.'s leading music awards, The Brits.

In the category of International Group, Arcade Fire will look for their third Brit against fellow nominees Kings of Leon, Daft Punk, Haim, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis.

Looking for his first win ever at The Brits, Drake is up for nomination in the category of International Male Solo Artist against Bruno Mars, Eminem, John Grant and Justin Timberlake.

The awards, Britain’s equivalent of the Junos or Grammys, will be handed out on Feb. 19 in a ceremony at London’s O2 Arena, which will feature performances by Arctic Monkeys, Bastille and Perry.

The majority of winners are decided by a ballot of some 1,000 music-industry members along with a number of categories that are decided by public vote.
