The reactions of the Beatle world to the death Saturday of Beatles friend and rock 'n' roller Tony Sheridan continue to come in.
Horst Fascher, who was a friend of the Beatles during their days in Hamburg and a close friend of Sheridan, sent us a comment early Monday through Facebook that “he was like my brother.”
Dave Humphries who was a friend of Tony's and played with him in October at San Diego Beatlefair, has allowed us to use two pictures with him and Tony. One is at Beatlefair late last year, the other is the two of them at the Star-Club in Hamburg.
In our previous report, we featured a picture of Tony Sheridan and Gerry Marsden together taken in 2007. Keith Putney of Keith Putney Productions has sent us more pictures from that show of Sheridan performing. You can see these pictures in the slide show. The show, a British Invasion Celebration, took place at the Cannery in Las Vegas on July 28, 2007.
Also in this article is a video of Sheridan singing "My Bonnie" live in 2004. His performance features some of the guitar licks that can be heard on the Beatles' recorded version plus some added lyrics.
Sheridan died Saturday in Germany after being ill for several months. Funeral arrangements are pending.
