Is Ron Paul a Nazi? Anonymous thinks so. After hacking into a a major US-based white supremacist network, Anonymous hacktivists claim they have proof that Ron Paul is closely associated with American neo-Nazis and white supremacists.
On Tuesday, Anonymous enthusiasts hacked and defaced the website of American Third Position (A3P), a major US-based white supremacist network. According to Anonymous, documents liberated in the hack show:
“Ron Paul has regularly met with many A3P members, even engaging in conference calls with their board of directors.”
On Thursday, the Ron Paul campaign denied allegations made by Anonymous that Paul shares ties with white supremacists.
This is not the first time Ron Paul has faced accusations of sympathizing with white supremacists and other bigots. In the 1980's and 1990's Paul published a series of newsletters written in the first person and published under his name that contained bigotry, racism, homophobia and antisemitism.
Paul claims he did not write or approve of the racist, antisemitic and homophobic material appearing in the string of controversial newsletters published under his name. Yet many find it hard to believe that Paul would sell and profit from a newsletter bearing his name without being aware of, and approving of, the content.
In addition to the allegations made by Anonymous, and the controversial and inflammatory newsletters published under Paul’s name, there are other troubling indications that Paul may be a white supremacist.
Ron Paul has made no secret of the fact that he believes that the South was right and the North was wrong in the Civil War. Further, Ron Paul was the only member of congress to vote against honoring the Civil Rights Act Of 1964 on its 40th anniversary in 2004. Indeed, Paul has often claimed that he does not support the Civil Rights Act.
Paul’s position on the Civil War, and the Civil Rights Act, places him on the wrong side of both the fight against slavery and the fight against Jim Crow segregation. Indeed Paul’s position is identical to that of most white supremacists.
Anonymous snared Ron Paul in Operation Blitzkrieg, an ongoing Anonymous operation targeting neo-Nazis around the world. Last Sunday, hacktivists associated with Anonymous hacked and defaced the web page belonging to the American Nazi Party.
