California harbors the most illegal aliens in the nation and a new report out from the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors shows the incredibly high cost of welfare for parents of anchor babies.
The $600 million tab was tallied using county statistics released by Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael Antonovich who says social spending for those families rose $53 million in November and when added to the $570 already spent would edge the yearly welfare bill past $600 million for 2010.
Antonovich estimated the figure using the cost of food stamps and other welfare benefits used by California’s CalWORKS program. The supervisor also pooled those numbers with public safety and health care costs.
However, county officials say the "total cost for illegal immigrants to county taxpayers is $1.6 billion,” according to a Fox News report.
The report does not include the hundreds of millions the state and county pay for educating illegal aliens as mandated by federal law.
Supervisor Antonovich recognizes the (anchor baby) kids he focused on are U.S.-born, but the money collected from welfare is given to their parents who are primarily illegal aliens.
"The problem is illegal immigration. ... Their parents evidently immigrated here in order to get on social services," Antonovich spokesman Tony Bell told Fox News. "We can no longer afford to be HMO to the world."
Those welfare numbers are similar to a report by the Federation for American Immigration Reform, a Washington D.C. think tank seeking a solution for the out-of-control immigration problem in America.
FAIR contends many states’ budget crisis can be tied directly to illegal aliens residing in their district and collecting a bevy of social-services money.
Last year FAIR estimated the yearly total for America’s illegal immigration stood at $113 billion and California’s cost was nearly $22 billion.

Looks like someone in California finally got clue, It seems to be a given when someone who lives south of the border gets pregnant, they immediately pack their suitcase and head to California. All of sudden someone realized that the cost of these little bundles, it's s the American taxpayer who foots the bill courtesy of our beneficient government. We are fools for not screaming to high heaven that we are not the dumping ground of the world, nor the maternity ward. It the 14th amendment is corrected and E-verify mandated for all business, most of these travesties would stop.

Remember, too, they are not just the Spanish speakers. There are a ton of OTMs. Though fewer in actual numbers, they can be a greater threat of a different kind. Curing their problems is difficult since they have no Second Amendment, as do we (though ours is slowly being shredded). Guns are illegal in Mexico except for some of the "elite" and the drug cartels. So ordinary folks and there are a lot of good people in Mexico, just don't have the means to solve/correct the problem. Perhaps were we to exercise OUR Second Amendment RIGHTS we could rid our once great counrty of the corruption in our government.

I am a business consultant, I see this every day, the employer knows they are illegal. he knows they are using false id yet he hires them because they will work for less, not ask for a raise or benefits and won;'t go to OSHA over illegal work conditions and to reward this loyalty he tells them where the public assistance office is so they can get those benefits!
Immigration reform starts with employment reform!
Simplest way to do it is make part of having a business license be a requirement that they employer uses E-verify for ALL employers including "contractors." While not fool proof it is a good statrt!
Keep it part of the Civil requirement and you do not have jurisdictional isses

So then the total cost is 113 billion a year for illegals. (This is from a conservative study that used los angeles as the sample city by the way, I think middle america is not nearly as infested with illegals as LA). But the total lost by tax payers due to tax evasion is 345 billion. The thieves in wall street cost us trillions in bailouts (which bush did too), and they ruined our world wide economy also. I think we should catch all criminals, but it's much more cost effective for the national debt to catch just a few wall street tax evaders (not even counting all the other wall street tricks used to steal money, the hedge fund con artists, those who give american jobs to slaves). Bernie madoff stole about 50 billion, just him and a few friends. We confiscate just five bernie madoff's stolen goods, stolen money, invenstments he took from drug lords, investments that could have gone towards job producing companies, confiscate all the dirty money, those four cases cracked will be as cost effective as catching all illegals in all the usa and then some. Let's confiscate more dirty money bought jets and mansions, and less dirty money bought tortillas and dirty goodwill clothes. Pretend a police department with limited funds has to decide whether to search for a guy that took pens and a twenty bucks from a bank, or search for a guy that robbed thousands from a bank vault, who do you look for first? If the bank wants to get back the most money, who do they focus on?

In hosting America's largest population of illegal immigrants, California bears a huge cost to provide basic human services for this fast growing, low-income segment of its population. A new study from the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) examines the costs of education, health care and incarceration of illegal aliens, and concludes that the costs to Californians is $10.5 billion per year.
Among the key finding of the report are that the state's already struggling K-12 education system spends approximately $7.7 billion a year to school the children of illegal aliens who now constitute 15 percent of the student body. Another $1.4 billion of the taxpayers' money goes toward providing health care to illegal aliens and their families, the same amount that is spent incarcerating illegal aliens criminals.
"California's addiction to 'cheap' illegal alien labor is bankrupting the state and posing enormous burdens on the state's shrinking middle class tax base," stated Dan Stein, President of FAIR. "Most Californians, who have seen their taxes increase while public services deteriorate, already know the impact that mass illegal immigration is having on their communities, but even they may be shocked when they learn just how much of a drain illegal immigration has become."
False lies conjured up by an ignorant mislead jerk. Add it all up and compare it to 350 billion in taxes evading, keep adding the trillions in bailouts. Bernie madoff just one person stole 50 billion. There is no comparison, you are wasting our time with these rinky dink 'thieves' that shop at goodwill. If I owned a bank and somebody suggested looking for the guy that stole $50, and not first go after the guy that stole $50,000 I would fire them on the spot.
Not that I condone it and I left California in 1982 but $53 Mil is 9% of $600 Mil so why isn't anyone asking who are the rest of the folks collecting the other $547 Mil? Perhaps welfare reform needs to be addressed. No matter the culprit, the incentive is to hitch a free ride. Wake up America!
