American Idol's Danny Gokey to release second album in June

Danny Gokey made a name for himself on Season 8 of television's "American Idol" when he walked away with third place. Then he cemented his place in the music industry with the release of his 2010’s record-breaking debut album, “My Best Days.” Now the BMG recording artist is planning the release of his highly anticipated sophomore release, “Hope in Front of Me” on June 24. The “Hope In Front Of Me” single is already climbing the charts.

After taking four years to craft his second album, Gokey says the project will offer “songs of hope and entertainment.” While Gokey started singing with his family in church, he has stated he would rather record mainstream music than perform solely contemporary Christian music. However, his music carries the message of hope and redemption that has helped “Hope In Front Of Me” to climb into the top 30 at Christian radio outlets nationwide.

“I really wanted to just capture more of who I am with this record,” Gokey says, “more of the soul, and more of all of me as an artist. It’s got a big sound to it, which I love. The track, ‘Hope In Front Of Me,’ is just the tip of the iceberg. I’ve got some songs on there that I hope people are going to really love.”
