With things gearing up for this year's San Diego International Comic Con in less than three weeks, all attention is falling upon all things comic books and geek culture. So what better time than to make some big announcements from another Comic Con that is quickly gaining momentum?

Earlier today (July 8, 2014), show producer Dan Farr and business partner Bryan Brandenburg made some huge announcements about the increasingly impressive roster for this year's Comic Con, which will again be held at the Salt Palace Expo Center in downtown Salt Lake City between the dates of September 4 and September 6. Introduced by representatives from The Umbrella Corporation, the fictitious evil corporation from the Resident Evil video game and movie franchises, Farr and Brandenburg proved why the Salt Lake Comic Con, in less than one year, has quickly become the third biggest Comic Con in the country.

Salt Lake Comic Con will proudly welcome Stephen Amell, John Barrowman, and Manu Bennett (who attended the inaugural SLCC in 2013) from CW's Arrow, Big Bang Theory's Simon Helburg, Napoleon Dynamite's Jon Heder, Smallville's Michael Rosenbaum, Breaking Bad's Giancarlo Esposito, The Hobbit's Dean O'Gorman, TV's Hercules Kevin Sorbo, as well well as the returns of Lou Ferrigno and Jason David Frank. This, of course, is in addition to the previously announced guests Bruce Campbell, Ernie Hudson, Cary Elwes, Eliza Dushku, and Christopher Lloyd, just to name a few.

However, it's not just this impressive guest line-up that proves this is bigger than last year's massive event. “It's because you and the ticket sales that we're able to continue to do this,” Brandenburg told the attendees at the press conference held at The Leonardo this morning. “Due to your continued support, our ticket sales are already three times the amount sold from our previous two events.”

Because of the estimated 120,000 attendees anticipated, adjustments needed to be made to accommodate the larger numbers. According to Brandenburg, the fan registration desks desks have been consolidated to maximize the amount of overflow space and panels. This will perfectly accommodate the 200 planned panels, which will also feature many of the popular authors and comic book artists in the country.

Farr and Brandenburg made a few other announcements that proved to be quite exciting. Marvel and Dark Horse Comics were announced as two new sponsors, which also include PC Laptops, Broadway Media Group, and the U.S. Air Force. Also, SLCC is bringing back the popular Zombie Walk on August 10, as well bringing back the Kid Con, which first bowed at last April's SLCC FanXperience.

Tickets are currently on sale here. Prices are increasing in September, so act fast!
