Police in Osceola County, Fla. are crediting a 15-year-old child sex abuse victim with coming forward last Friday and reporting information that helped put a newly confessed Kissimmee child predator behind bars. The young girl told police that an adult friend of the family began touching her inappropriately when she was only 13, and that the man may have done the same thing with another young female family member.
The 57-year-old adult friend of the family identified as George Marshall Collins, Jr. of 2756 Burrows Ave. in Kissimmee, was arrested by deputies with the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office on Friday. According to a June 2 report from WESH in Orlando, police brought Collins into their office for questioning on suspicion of possible child sex abuse after speaking to the young girl on May 30.
The 15-year-old girl who informed police that Collins began touching her inappropriately two years ago said that the inappropriate touching occurred several times over the last few years. The girl also reported to officers that she was concerned that the same inappropriate touching had also taken place with another female family member who is currently 10 years old; but that the alleged abuse would have taken place when the other girl would have been eight or nine years old .
When Collins went in for questioning, he was reportedly very cooperative with officers conducting the investigation. Collins admitted to deputies that he “sexually battered the victims and took nude photos of them.” Collins had those nude images of the young girls on his cellphone, which the police were able to recover as evidence.
Around Osceola reported today that Collins was charged with 22 counts of possession of child pornography, eight counts of capital sexual battery, four counts of lewd and lascivious molestation and three counts of lewd exhibition. He was booked into the Osceola County Jail where he is currently being held without bond.
