Pantone recently announced its choice for the color of 2014, and the result is Radiant Orchid – a light shade of purple with red undertones. This hue is darker than a pastel, but lighter than a jewel tone. It is flattering on a wide range of skin tones, and it is adds a refreshing pop of color, as it is more understated and classic than the bright neon hues of last fall and spring.
This color is easy to incorporate into any wardrobe. The Nordstrom store in Park Meadows recently opened its TopShop boutique – the only one in the Denver area. This British label has recently been made famous by the Duchess of Cambridge, as she wore several of its dresses while pregnant. TopShop’s current line, which is available at Nordstrom, features several items in hues similar to Radiant Orchid. Stop in and pick up a skirt, jacket or a scarf in the season’s hottest color.
If you prefer to shop small, check out the Evey K boutique in the Lowry Town Center. With designers like Nanette Lepore, Free People and BB Dakota, among others, you can find a fashion forward piece in the color of 2014. Peruse Evey K’s line of accessories such as handbags and jewelry for a pop of Radiant Orchid in an otherwise neutral clothing palette.
If you’re into pinkish-purple, 2014 is your year. Check out these two shops and add some radiance to your wardrobe this season.
