While Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast may find the premise of an official My Little Pony tabletop role-playing game "ridiculous," many fans have taken it upon themselves to create their own versions with their favorite systems. Here's a list of the existing My Little Pony conversions for Pathfinder, QAGS and Savage Worlds:
Laser Ponies (QAGS)
Laser Ponies is for girls and boys alike, and is the first all-ages role-playing game from Hex Games. It uses the QAGS system, but you do not have to own the QAGS rulebook-the QAGS Qik Start rules, which tell you everything you need to know to play the game, are included in the back of the book. Also included are rules for Pony Power, 40 story ideas, sample characters, illustrations by up-and-coming young artist Katie Staffiera, and a character sheet.
The Savage World of My Little Pony (Savage Worlds)
This 4th Edition of The Savage World of My Little Pony is the culmination of over a year and half of work, both by myself and by the numerous others who contributed to its continuing evolution since its conception in early February of 2011. It is my labor of love and gift to the greater My Little Pony fandom at large, and I am sure that you will be able to see the amount of exacting detail and work that has been put into making it as complete as possible. I hope that it inspires others to use their own skills and create something that they can then bring to others and share in the sense of community that this game has created for me.
My Little Pony: Roleplaying is Magic (custom)
Initially, MLP:RiM was an idea between two bronies—Tall Tail and Know-It-All—to create a stand-alone pony RPG system which not only was unique instead of requiring another system to use, but was also designed to provide an experience true to the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic cartoon; focusing on themes of cooperation, learning lessons, and the importance of friendship. Over time, the team has grown; Artsy Heartsy, webmaster and layout designer. Pixel, illustrator extraordinaire. Sketchbook, classic artist. What you see currently is the result of that team's effort. We hope you'll stick around to see what comes next!
Ponies: The Roleplaying Game (custom)
This is a first draft of a simple RPG I made for people who want to play as ponies with actual stats and dice. Hopefully I've described the rules well enough and given everyone enough for a good jumping-off point. I'll add more material as time allows and I'm sure other writers could make some supplements as well. I avoided using actual character and setting info from the show to keep from making something that clearly violates copyrights.
My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic (custom)
The magic of friendship is all around us, thanks to the sensational new show developed by Lauren Faust everypony can experience that magic for themselves. In My Little Pony: Friendship is magic the roleplaying game you can play as one of the ponies from the show or create your own pony to explore the magical world that awaits you.
Welcome to Ponyfinder. Add ponies to your Pathfinder game with minimal fuss or muss. No gag spells or overpowered feats. Balanced options allow you to play established material, as a pony, or make up your own campaigns set in a land limited only by your imagination.
It bears mentioning that Ponyfinder was created as a Kickstarter that ended on August 24 with a goal of $3,850. It achieved $20,798.
