The weary Albuquerque Isotopes had no answers in the opener of a doubleheader Friday night. The Las Vegas 51s rolled to an 8-1 victory as Albuquerque played its third game in two days with one more game to go.

Wilmer Flores and Kevin Plawecki hit solo home runs for Las Vegas (56-40). For Flores, it marked his sixth home run this season against the Isotopes (43-53) in five games this season.

Jeff Bennett (4-4) went the distance for Albuquerque, allowing all eight runs on nine hits and two walks while striking out four in six innings. He did not get any offensive support as the Isotopes collectively amassed seven hits, all singles.

Roger Bernadina led off the game with a walk and Joc Pederson followed with a single. After the next two batters struck out, Griff Erickson hit a single up the middle to drive in Bernadina.

That lead disappeared quickly as Matt den Dekker led off the bottom of the frame with a double, went to third on a wild pitch and then scored on another wild pitch. Flores then reached on a fielder's choice and scored on Andrew Brown's groundout.

Plawecki hit his home run in the second and Flores homered in the third to make it 4-1. The 51s put the game away with four runs in the fourth, highlighted by Allan Dykstra's three-run triple.

Matt Bowman (1-0) allowed just the one run in six innings to earn the victory for Las Vegas. Den Dekker finished the game 3-for-4.

The Isotopes and 51s will meet again Friday night. The short series wraps up Saturday at 8:05 p.m., followed by the Triple-A All-Star break Sunday through Wednesday.
