50 YEARS AFTER THE DREAM: WE HAVE A NIGHTMARE
50 years ago Martin Luther King gave his famous I have a dream speech. I remember it. There was a great need for what he was preaching. American black and white rose to the occasion and made sure that laws of the land reflected what the country stands for, while putting teeth into them. We were on our way to fulfilling the dream but something happened to turn it into a nightmare. MLK predicted that one day there would be a black President. Who knew it would happen in about 45 years?
I supposed people will be comparing the Present occupant of the White House with Martin Luther King. Too bad! They are as different as day and night, except for color of skin. The color of skin is the very thing that King wanted to be eliminated when it came to making an assessment of someone.
Martin Luther King was a Christian. Obama gets along and associates with Muslims much better than he does practicing Christians, though he claims to be one. Obama thinks ONLY blacks could have been his child or that he could have been them, although he is half white. He jumps into matters that tend to aggravate racism, instead of being helpful. He believes in social Justice. You know that old idea that seeks to make a liar out of God by saying to people, you have a right to reap what others sow and I am going to see to it that you do.
Martin Luther King spoke about the promise of America and the dream of it living up to its creed of all men being created equal. Obama has instead played in the field with those that keeps telling blacks that they cannot do much because they are being held down; thus joining those that have exacerbated the greatest form of slavery to ever to afflict any person, the slavery of the mind.
Now all the would be deliverers will stand on the capitol grounds of the greatest country in the world and try to hold on, as much as possible, to a legacy that should have been released a long time ago; supposing that they can keep captive the great grand children of former slaves. These would be saviors hold onto power by lies and bind people by destructiveness of deception.
This did not Martin Luther King. He did not get rich from his efforts, neither did he partner with the former oppressors to the exclusion of all others. The Republicans who have been the ones instrumental in passing every righteous piece of civil rights legislation over the past 150 years, is now disparaged because they want to treat people of color as equals and not vassals. The Republicans I say; that party of which along with blacks, 1300 whites were also lynched from trees. These have been abandoned for a few crumbs of bread. As scripture informs us, a gift perverts the heart of him making a decision. Apparently President knew this. He is reported as saying, “I’ll have those niggers voting Democratic for the next 200 years.” Yet many persons of color feel worse off in some respects today and I agree with them. For when they should have pursued excellence in ever endeavor; not just sports and entertainment, their so-called leaders went to work brainwashing them, making themselves rich by bringing in the vote to their continuing oppressors, the Democrats. Republicans are saying come on you can do it; your chains have been loosed. The Sambos and Quimbos and those that benefit them are also screaming, you cannot do it, they won’t let you. Stay with us, we have more crumbs to give you. Just vote for us another 50 years.
It is time people of color wake up because just as Noah proved that a man could do right if he wanted to and by doing right himself condemned the rest of the world. Every single individual that makes it among people of color prove that America is indeed the land of opportunity. That they all could make it and be happy here. There are those here black and white who love our freedom and our brothers; no way will we tell you that you cannot do for yourselves. Yet we are willing to show you how it is done. It works like sports and music. Produce something or be the best you can be in any thing you choose. Everyone appreciate expertise and will pay you for it or for what it produces. What do you think of yourself to wait for someone else to produce something so you can get a job? They owe this to you why? Do you owe it to them? Time to turn from page one and look at the back of the book. Why? Because as for as racism stopping people from doing what they want in this country, we are at the end.
